Her “First Self Portrait” and “Self-Portrait With Insomnia” are paired with Venus Zarris’ photographs. Venus Zarris has been capturing lunar images in various stages for over a year. The image for “First Self Portrait” was taken over Lake Michigan on September 14, 2011. The image for “Self-Portrait With Insomnia” was taken on May 15, 2010, and captures a rare incarnation of a crescent with earthshine (the reflection of the sun’s light off the earth) reflecting on to the dark side of the moon.
